Julius Accepts UPI Payment
By Zach Perkel · 2 min read
We just added UPI as a payment option for Julius. If you're in India (or anywhere UPI works), you can now pay for Julius the same way you pay for everything else.
Why UPI?
UPI went from essentially zero transactions in 2016 to over 20 billion monthly transactions in 2025. That's not just adoption—that's how an entire country decided to handle money.
When 1.2 billion people across 568 banks are using something, and your product is about making data accessible to everyone, it's kind of a no-brainer to support it.
What this means for you
If you're in India:
- Pay in INR directly through UPI—no currency conversion fees eating into your budget
- Use the payment method you already trust instead of adding yet another international card
- Subscribe to Julius the same way you'd pay for anything else
If you're not in India:
- This is part of our bigger push to make Julius accessible globally, not just in markets where credit cards are the default
The bigger picture
We're seeing more teams in India using Julius for data analysis—finance teams at startups, PMs at growth companies, engineers exploring databases. They were already using Julius. Now they can actually pay for it without jumping through hoops.
It's a small change that matters to the people it matters to. Which is kind of the point.
